If you fight to the end, the chance is on your side.
Strong mentality and full concentration. This is what Wotte was preaching since the day he walked from the airport with praz in his hands. Stiintza happened that knocked Rapid because rapizii were distracted by their management crisis and at the end of the day we were more focused then them. We can’t honestly say that we were better than Rapid, but the team showed yet again that is more than capable to fight until the last whistle of the referee.
Craiova also won because it has Gangioveanu a player who exploded this half-season. Cosmin’s form has been steady and growing slowly. Today’s goal is a reward for his efforts and it should be a day to remember for him in his long and I hope successful career.![]()
It’s also a victory for Wotte who shows incredible courage to start the game in Giulesti with Ologu in the first eleven. After Busu, Ologu is the second player promoted by Wotte from the youth squad. Wotte has also corrected the defensive set-pieces hesitations and implemented a calm and composed construction of the attacks from the moment the team recovers the ball. When we had Florin, we were used to throwing the ball into space for him. He made things happen. Now we have to slow things down and build our attacks patiently. Wotte teached the boys to keep their had straight and things will happen. He had Gaman with him at the press conference and Vali played superbly today.
And of course we cannot forget Florin, a player that means so much to everybody from family and friends to fans and football lovers to Liga I and romanian football. And that’s something that is sad to discover in such a way. Florin had a short interview at Fanatik Show and wanted to thank everybody for their support. He avoided questions about his recovery time and said that he knew that “U” would win today.
The spirit of Craiova is undeniably back. But Stiintza has to stay focused if it wants to leave the uncertainty of it’s position. The next game against Timisoara will ne another test of faith, maturity and ability. How will we approach that game – knowing that a series of first team players including Lung and the captain Prepelita – will be absent, that is the next job for the management of the team.
